in their division final Saturday at Ottawa In games ending the regular season of the Eastern Division on Saturday Bishops defeated Concordia Stingers 2423 and McGill Redmen downed Carle ton Ravens 3732 Bishops and Queens Golden Gaels each finished the season with five victories and two do feats but the Gaiters took sec ond place because they beat the Golden Gaels when they met in regularseason Reporter The Central Collegiate junior girls basketball team played host to Alliston recently and came out on top 3729 after one period of overtime The hard fought game was very exciting and with one second left in the game Alliston tied the score at 2424 In the tense overtime period the Central juniors were led by Gabrielle Vollebrejt who scored six points and Cheryl Christie defensively Jane Young led all scorers with 10 points The Central senior team played in the fourth annual Penetang Girls Basketball Tournament and came home victorious for the second time in three years The girls defeated Park Street by 5521 score Parry Sound by 5128 score and Penetang by 5122 score to win the championship This is quite an accomplishment since the senior girls had only five players at the tournament High scorer for the tournamant was Mickey Fusedale who had 62 points After the impressive tour nament victory the girls had to do battle with tough team from Alliston The Central seniors came out on top with 37 victory and are still un defeated in league play Central was led in scoring by Mickey Fusedale with 18 points and Karen Scott with 16 points Terry Brown led Alliston scorers with 18 points The next game is Thursday against East view The boys volleyball zone championships were held at Eastview last week and our juniors and midgets qualified for the Georgian Bay Secon dary School Association finals The juniors led by captain Ross Holt andJohn Laking out classed all teams with their superior team play and finished in first place beating Alliston in the final by 152 1014 scores The midgets came in second losing the final to strong East view team in three games The seniors were upset during the playdowns after finishing league play with 41 record and are looking to vic
