dont want the change it means one to twoyear delay Mr Kozlov said And what guarantee do have that people living in the townhouses in the area wont object to the apartment buildings Mr Kozlov presented plan for the 76 acre site which in cluded 16storey rental apart ment building and 16storey condominium apartment building The condominium building which had all underground parking was located west of Kozlov Street north of the ren tal building The four objectin residents complained to the oard that they moved to Barrie to get away from apartment buildings in the Toronto area They said they did not realize the land was zoned for high density development The residents said Cundles Road and Bayfield Street can not handle the increased traffic from the apartments ZONED RM The property is zoned RH residential hold Any land in Barrie which can be developed with houses has similar zoning until plan of sub division is prepared by the developer In the hold category 30foot height limitation is used at Georgian Col lege joins the city staff after two and half years working at the Mental Health Centre in Penetanguishene At the mental health cen tre she was community liaison officer between the recreation department at the hospital and the community agencies She also worked as leisure time counsellor for the residents helping them plan their leisure time Mrs Martin who is native of the brought to his place Henderson came with Howard and helped set it up Taking the stand in his own defence Henderson said he had driven Howard to Angus after being asked to and had no knowledge of the stereo before it was sold to James Judge Woodliffe ruled that although there was evidence against Henderson the ex planation he offered was reasonable one He said he was bound to dismiss the charge Judge Woodliffe acquitted Alexander Tateon charge of obstruction of police officer His car was stopped on Highway 400 South Jan 25 after police received com plaint that the driver of the car had assaulted someone on Highway 27 Constable Doug Wainwright of Barrie PP preached the car to get entification from the oc cupants and found Irene Monica of Toronto was driv ing He said Tate who was in the ssen er seat refused to pro uce entification Tate and Miss Monica said that he pounded on the window and demanded identification Constable Wainwright and Constable Gordon Fearon said Tate told Miss Monica to drive away so they forced their way into the car and ar rested Tate Tate and Miss Monica said they didnt understand the police ac tions and that Tate was the victim of beating at the hands of Constable Wain wright Tate was acquitted of the charge She does not plan any changes in the program of operation at the Parkview centre She said she wants to spend the next few months meeting the people and team ing about the activities want to take time to know the program as Peggy Hall did it she said The centre is for these people and they know their needs better than anyone else Mrs Martin said she is glad the centre has board of senior citizens which she can turn for help and guidance GRADUATE graduate of the two year Recreation Leadership course at Fanshaw College in London Mrs Martin became interested in recreation dur ing high school She worked as playground leader in her home town and worked with senior citizens group during her education at Fanshaw enjo ed the work so much ecided to make it my vocation she said Mrs Martin said while she has not worked full time with senior citizens group since graduating in 1973 the basic theories and philosophies of recreation are the same for all groups She is involved in other aspects of recreation and is working on two provincial study groups for recreation for disabled people and women in recreation Local General
