with car seat belts may read like comedy of er rors but he isnt laughing His bad luck with faulty seat belts has been costly and has shaken his confidence in their reliability the 21year old former Barrie resident mw living in New Liskeard says His troubles began year after he bought new Mer airy compact in Barrie The back seat belt was stuck halfway out of its re wind mechanism and when Mr Wagner tried to have it repaired he was told it had to be replaced at cost of $40 Though alarmed over the cost he kept his complaint to himself and returned to his bank job in New Liskeard Trouble followed Being conscientious seat belt wearer and wishing to comply with the Ontario governments new legisla tion he arrived for work one day this spring safely buckled up When he tried to undo the lap belt and shoulder harness 11 found himself securely but embarrassingly locked in he says sheepishly He had to hail passing friend who was sent to get knife so that he could cut himself free If the car had rolled in crash or caught fire would have been in real trouble he says He returned to where he bought the car pretty mad he says and complained The dealership was sym pathetic but told him the war ranty on the seat belt had ex pired and he would have to pay the full cost of replace mentanother $50 or so Then just this week on vacation and visiting his parents in Barrie his older brother was
