Real Estate Golden Hawks could be the sur prise team of the tournament The club looks strong Hawks have lost only one of five exhibition games Games begin at 10 am Sunday and will continue through to to step into new season In order to insure proper and regular coverage of games the oneness has been put on the leagues this goes right up to the senior ranks to appoint someone or some policy that will handle the dropping off of scores Good cooperation has already been noted by the minor lacrosse baseball and soccer people Score cards for each sport are available at the sports desk of The Examiner If not now they will be in shortly Feel free to drop in or phone for further information on how we can best work together to cover your league At times paper is accused of favoring sport More often it is case of sport school or an organization doing that little extra to make sure the results of the games are brought to our attention If theres been sore spot its been the high school coverage In comparison to the hundreds involved in the many dif ferent sports often of high calibre of competition its been meagre effort to keep the media informed on what is happening or about to happen CORNER ViEWSConsider the whole sphere of sports in the city the 45 minor soccer teams the Recreation Soccer League The Junior soccer team look at the minor ball league and its 14 teams the minor lacrosse association another 26 the senior baseball circuit how many fastball leagues of importance do we have in operation in Barrie and the teams involved look at other functions as banquets tournaments meetings which take place and given night of the week Each night there are number of events which deserve public attention We try and thats the best you can expect The demand far outstrips the facilities to handle it all and that is why leagues have got to take it upon themselves to make the extra effort There are cases when reporter is expected at an event and fails to show First there is anger then blasting of the paper or reporter We dont apologize we try to explain why we couldnt make it but usually does little towards easing the animosity that has been created Down deep we really want to ask why someone didnt get off their fat fannies and submit something on their own either written or verbal Chevys improve in second match Barrie Sadlon Chevys peewees showed major im
