Dominion Hardware both in Alcona Bench and Hogarths Red and White Store in Lefroy were exemp ted from the new provincial regulations governing Sun day store openings despite the objections of Reeve Bill Gibbins dont see the reason for us defeating the provincial regulations Gibbins said Im very much opposed to Sunday store openings and dont mind saying it He said the move would open the door for Sundav opening of all stores in the municipality regardless of whether they are in tourist area or not question whether some of these stores are open Sun day to serve resort areas Mr Gibbins said If they are not solely serving tourists why are we allowing them we The Town of Wasagaheach has passed bylaw exemp ting all its stores from the provmcial regulations and Oro Township has exempted Fudas Trustees approved report Wednesday providing 11 professional development days next year including seven to nine of them at the end ofJune The board also approved school year with 185 teaching days starting September Next year teachers in semestered secondary schools in Elmvale Collingwood and Stayner will have seven of the 11 days from June 22 to June 30 One development day is scheduled Oct 29 and three fromJan27toJan31 Teachers in all elementary schools and other secondary schools have nine days at the end of the year running from Ramsay says separate board June 20 to June 30 The remaining
