city council sits down to pass the proposed 1976 current budget Ald Alex Arthur finance committee chairman said the budget will be presented to council at pm during special meeting The budget about $105 milllion means about seven to eight per cent increase in taxes for municipal purposes This does not include in creases caused by the Simcoe County Board of Education and Simcoe County Roman Catholic Separate School Board budgets Ald Arthur said the in crease is below the 1976 rate of inflation of about 10 per cent He said the committee tried to stay below the rate of inflation as much as possible The budget he said will be presented in its original form with list of possible cuts or deletions for council to review The citys parks and recreation department is asked to out about $80000 from its budget this year Most other departments were unscathed in the finance committees annual review of the proposed budget City council met earlier this year to discuss the public works and parks and recreation budget These are the two largest single depart ment budgets in the city suggestions to delete any items Monday is the regular meeting day for councils three standing committees finance
