10000 pounds of whitefish supplied by the government at Christmas The fish are brought in because the On tario government banned commercial fishing on the poisoned waters six years ago and most of the people have lost their jobs FIND FISH TASTELESS The people arent eating them much says Mr Fobis BURTON AVE ter named interim chief about six months ago and now having difficulty finding replacement They used to have fresh fish any time they wanted They havent been eating the frozen fish much because of complaints that they are tasteless and wormy he says Earlier this year federal report said several people at Grassy Narrows and Whitedog Reserve to the west have unacceptably high blood levels of mercury The report said the highest mercury levels ever reported on the two reserves occurred last summer despite the fact that warnings against eating contaminated fish have been in effect for several years and that an intensive health education campaign has been in effect during the past reported on the reserve last year fourman Ontario Keeping up with president is not easy act to follow LOU CAMPAGNOLA If you were to ask an aide to President Spencer Kim ball world leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints what the hardest part of his job is he very well may say just keeping up with President Kimballs pace World leader of 35 million Mormons the 81yearold President Kimball sets pace that would stagger many men 30 years younger Shortly after becoming the 12th president of the Church in 1973 he called on Church members worldwide to lengthen their stride in presenting the message of the Church to the world As he called on others to follow he lengthened his own stride in his efforts to spread the Chur chs message In addition to his con ducting two semiannual world conferences each year from Salt Lake City Utah in April and October President Kimball has realized the need to visit with peoples of all the world Early in 1975 he conducted area conferences and other meetings with Church members and friends in Brazil Venezuela Argentina Paraguay Uruguay and Col umbia in South America and in Japan Korea Taiwan Hong Kong and the Philip pines Again this ear President Kimball will irect the affairs of the April world conference in Salt Lake City He will have just returned from some 20 area conference meetings in Australia New Zealand Samoa Tonga Fiji and Tahiti More conferences will be held again under President Kimballs personal direction in England Scotland France Finland Denmark Ge th Netherlands during the sum mer native of Arizona Presi dent Kimball also announced temple construction in Seat tle Washington He had previously made trips to Sao Paula and Tokyo to announce that temples will be built in those cities In Atlanta Georgia he was greeted by hundreds of well wishing people at the airport as he visited conference of youth And in February he traveled to Cleveland Ohio to explain to an audience of some 19000 wellknown Church health code that was revealed to Joseph Smith in Ohio over century ago When he is home he uts in full work days at his fice in Salt Lake City It is from this office that he directs the ever growing programs of the Church programs that have built up an allvolunteer mis sionary force of over 23000 missionaries who serve worldwide His constant companion and wife Camilla is always at his side With all his work activities President Kimball still finds time to visit with his family and entertain them by playing the piano This is rigorous schedule for man of any age and in the very best of health This makes Spencer Kimballs schedule seem ever more remarkable He nearly drowned once suffered facial paralysis had very serious case of ty hoid fever and small pox an in 1957 he underwent surgery for malignancy in his throat wherein he lost one vocal chord and part of another and temporarily lost his speech Today with deep deliberate voice and despite open heart surgery in 1971 he ly directs the Church and by example teaches what lengthening ones stride real ly means FAITH MISSIONARY CHURCH 229 Crawford St Barrie 945 am Sunday School for the whole family llam Morning
