Heads Innovation Services Institute Tony Rahilly, an Oshawa resident for thepast 15 years, bas been appointed General Manager of the Innovation Services Institute of Durham College. The Innovation Services Institute is one of the 22 pro- vincially funded innovation Centres just getting started. The aim of the Institute is to help local area businesses by providing start-up assistance to rew entrepreneurs and ad- vice to existing smail businesses wishing to expand or adopt new technology. Before bis appointment as Manager of the Innovation Services Institue, Mr. Rahil- ly, who joined Durham Col- lege in 1978, taught college courses in Market Research and Computer Applications in Marketing. Before coming to Durham College, Mr. Rahilly was Manager of New Product Development for a major phL.rmaceutical manufacturer, based in Toronto, where he was responsible for the develop- ment and market preparation of new drugs. He has also held positions in clinical research and sales within the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Rahilly is a graduate of the University of Toronto, with a MBA in Marketing. .He also holds a Bachelo r of Science Degree in Chemistry, from. University College, Dublin Ireland. For several years, Mr. Rahilly bas been a member of Oshawa Vikings Rugby Club, as both a player and a member of the executive, ser- ving two terms as President.
