AIl hunters are once agamn reminded of the extremne importance of providîng a good example in their pursuit of game. In Southern Ontario a high proportion of bunting recreatïon occurs on private land anid a- such, good huniter-lanciowner reîations are of utmost importance. One effective way to main- tain good hunter-landowner relations is to ensure that permission is always obtain- ed before entering private land. If your hunt is success- fui, perhaps an offer to share your game with the landown- er would be in order. Remnember. Your behav- lour when afîeld reflects on the entire hunting fraternity. Be sure to act in the same manner you -would expect of others hunting on your own property. Ministry of Natural Resour- ces field staff will again be patrolling extensively during the 1977 deer hunt. Should Lindsay districi landowners or hunters comne across a problemn during the deer hunt please contact the Lindsay District, office as soon as possible (705-324-6121 or Zenith 92000) and an investigation wîll be initiated at the earliest opportunity. Hunters are again advised that many of the townships in which an open season for deer exists have restrictive by- laws concerning the dis- charge of firearms. It is recom)mended that ail hunt- ers contact the appropriate township office before plan- ning their hunt. For addition- al information concerning hunting seasons iu Ontario please consult the summary of 1977 Hluntîng Regulations pamiphlet available at Minis- try of Natural Resources distcrict offices and many sporting stores. trapping regulation Recent changes in the trapping regulations (Ontario Regulation 443-77) requires that A persons holding a licence to hunt, or tmap fur-bearing animals mus t have a written permit fromp the owner of the land on which he is gomng to trap. This regulation requires that wrîtten permits from land owners must be present- ed when application is made for your 1977-78 trapper's licence.
