Skate-A-Thon nets Kinsmen near $3000 The Great Pine Ridge Kinsmen Club bias fînalîzed the results of their Skate-A- Thon hel on December 26th in the Newcastle Arena. The total amount raised through the Skate-A-Thon amounted to almost $3,00M.00 of whicb the amount $1,800.oo bas already been paid to the Iinsmen Club. Steven Merrick of Orono was the top skater at the event raising a total sumn of $456.44. Dennis Mullen with a total take of $163.52 was in second place in the amount of money raised. Sbayne Adams also of Orono raised a total of $140.00 baving skated the higbest number of rounds of the rink, 731. Steven Merrick made 544 rounds to support is total take of $456.44. Jim Boyd of Newcastle completed.728 rounds and raised $132.32. Trudy Wind of Newcastle was the highest girl skater raising $134.00 with 336 completed rounds. Nancy Bridger of Orono placed second with $115.00 and completing 720 rounds of the ice surface. Linda Merrick of Orono was third witb $101.95 througb the cornpletion of 425 rounds. Trophies were presented to the top three skaters in the boy's and girl's divisions. The trophies by Glen Rae Dairy, Sandor Ceramîcs of Newcastle, Cornish's Red and White and the Orono Times of Orono.
