Queens Hotel scored four goals before the League leading' Partners Plumbing could muster one, and defeated the pipebenders 7 -2. Glen, Murphy scored the first goal at the î.50 mark in the- first period, he hit the mark twice more in the third period wîth goals o)nly thirty seconds apart, at 16.25 and 16.55. Teammates B8. Aldread, J. Cunningham, B. McKay and Ray West ail scored singles, while Partners scorers were B. McCullough and B. Anderson. ELMHURST EDGE COWANVILLE 4-3 Once again those friendly protagonists Jonesy's Elmhurst Hotel met with Mendosa's Cowanville Auto Parts at the local àrena for the first gamne of the semri-finals with the winner advancing to the finals. Elmhurst Hotel took comman~d with a 3-1 lead in the first two periods on goals scored by Pete Clark and a pair by Gerry Van Dam, they weathered a late rally to end wvith a 4-3 victory. Cowanville pulled their goalie"in the last minute with Elmhurst leading 4-3 but the strategy only resulted la giving Cowanville 4 shots on net, one of which hit the cross bar. It was a good move by coach Johnny Sinclair, the extra attacker at least gave hlm the chance of tieing in the gamne. Other scorers in the gamne were Phil Fox of Elmhurst who hit the top corner on a break-away. Hitting the mark for Cowanville were Charlie Green, twice, and Larry once.
