One sees some marvellous crops of corn on bigh ground. At the time of writing one wouid feel. sorry for the Newfoundland housewife. Perhaps she has six sum- mer boarders. She thinks 1 will serve rice for dessert. I have no raisins, eggs or milk, but in China they Cook rice without any of these. Then she looks in the rice tin and finids its aimost empty. She sends Mary to the store. Alas all bas been sold and no boats are running because of the strike. She has no meat but fish and everyâne is tired of fish. It's bad e7fough to bave to serve beans three days in a row to your own family-.but to city boarders how badiy she will feel.
