After celebrating its two month anniversary earlier this week, the Oakville restaurant, owned by much-loved chef Michael Killip, is hosting a number of spe cial events starting this fall. "It's been a lot of fun so far and there are always things going on," said Killip. " We're hosting a number of special events and a cooking series - everything from basics in the kitchen to ethnic evenings featuring a variety of different cuisines." The fun begins Oct. 21 with a Risotto Class, followed by a Party Starters Class Nov. 11 and 12. All classes are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Winemaker's Meal, featuring Niagara Winery Malivore Estates, follows on Nov. 20. Killip also plans to change the menu with the change of seasons, so look for the first fall menu to debut around Thanksgiving. The Twisted Fork offers a bright and open atmosphere, with a picturesque view of the lake for the perfect backdrop to your dining experience. Its menu fea tures such tempting dishes as Merlot drenched roast chicken, seafood linguine, prosciutto wrapped prawns and tomato chevre crostini. Reservations are required for the weekend. The Twisted Fork is located at 67 Bronte Rd. To make reservations or to register for a class, please contact The Twisted Fork at 905-825-3675. Conveniently located but slightly hidden from view, lies a true gem of a restaurant. After all, treasures aren't supposed to be easy to find, are they? But now that you've found it at 407 Speers Rd., Unit #4, it will be an evening you won't forget. Walking into Elite, your eyes immediately roam the surroundings, trying to soak up the incredible details. Faux stone walls, gilt mirrors, stately columns, and arched walkways, all in the same rustic earth tones, make one feel as if they've just walked into an Italian piazza. And that's exactly the look owner Johnny Cicciarella was looking for. Of Sicilian heritage, Johnny knew he could bring the beauty of his roots to Oakvillians. Enjoy classic Italian favourites like Antipasto di Mare, Stracciatella, Spaghetti o Penne all'Arrabbiata, sauteed shrimp, and Sicilian style broiled veal. "affordable elegance . . .
