Ron Kuzyk · Oakville Beaver Jamie Smith · Oakville Beaver Angels bring back silver from Toledo The Oakville Angels mite rep team made it to the championship game of an international tournament in Toledo, Ohio, settling for the silver medal. O akville lost the cham pionship game 12-1 to Oregon. The first game o f the tournament was against the Sylvania Sharks. Good pitching from Lauren McLaughlin, which earned her MVP honours, helped Oakville win 6-4. The second game was against Oregon and Oakville lost 6-2. Sam Davis picked up MVP honours for her pitching. Third game was against SGS Magic and Oakville won 7-5. Lauren McLaughlin again picked up MVP honours for her pitching. Oakville played Oregon again in their fourth game and lost 14-0. Michelle Saunders picked up MVP honours for her incredible catch in right field. In their fifth game Oakville won 61 against Adrian Lookout from Michigan. Oakville played them again in the semifinal and won 8-4. In both games Lauren McLaughlin picked up MVP honours for her pitching. As far as league play is concerned, Oakville is tied for first place with Brampton and well positioned for the upcom ing regional playoffs and provincials.
