threshing grain as they did years ago One operated cradle by hand to harvest the grain and another was threshing the grain with haird operated flailcr This truck was followed by modern harvesting machine There were several other floats that helped to make an attractive parade and most of the entries fea tured farm products or products related to the farm AFTERNOON PROGRAM The afternoon program was open ed at pm at the arena park Six teams were entered in the doubles division of the horse shoe pitching contest The horse shoe winners were Allan McLean and Archie McLean of Dunncon These brothers were also the winners one year ago Winning every game they had perfect score of 250 Two teams were tied for second placewmd in the playoffs the win ners were WE Crawford of Mine sing and Albert McFadden of Bar rie Third place went to Arthur Baker ofCollingwood and Jimmy McLean of Nottawa Allan McLean won first prize in the singles and second prize was II by Crawford report of the Bay Show which was held during the afternoon at the 1001 hall on Collier street is published in another column At DJ on the Post Office Square the Old Time Fiddlers cori tesi was held Bert Mulholland of Stroud won first place in the fiddlers contest and Chester Marshall of Cundles was second Closely following the winners was Gordon Sliclswell RR Shanty Bay Others who took part and won vigorous Stroiid and Utopia was won 53 by Strnud EVENING PROGRAM Following the parade ceremony of presentations was conducted on Ave both of the platform at the Post Office Square Norman Clarke presented the winners of the baby contest which Stewart Page agricultural ro Presentiitivc presented prizes to tolling $60 to the six Winners of the Farm Improvement contest Half thQ money was provided by the Chamber of Commerce and the other half was from entry fees and from the Junior Farmers The judging was done by Page and Nornraii Clarke in September of 1947 and one year later Joan Lungman of Elmvale
