SHOW SAT 230 This announcement was made by Rev Cross at the morning service of Trinity Anglican Church last Sunday Mr Wright has been organist and choir master of Trin ity Church in Barrie for the past 12 years At 67 years of age Mr Wright will probably be one of the oldest men to be ordained in the Church of England possibly one of the 3000 PARADE IN 0RILLIA JULY TWELFTH Oiillia Packet and from Ontario County York County and Muskokti the men women and children thronng Orillia streets from early morning until late at night and despite heavy rain storm and thunder and lightning display early in the evening cele brated the Glorious Twelfth in tra dilional fashion The heat and humidity were op pressive but marchers of all ages and both sexes covered theveleven blocks between the Oval and Cou chiching Park without showing too many signs of weariness The stirring music of bagpipe fife and drum bands aided in keeping up their spirits and the dense crowds which thronged the route of the parade were an incentive for all to put their best foot forward Parade officials did not have definite picture either of the num ber of Lodges represented or of the total number on the parade but about seventy Lodges did register with Secretary Bert Harper and it was thought that there were be tween 80 and 100 on the march Estimates oftnumbers of people ran around the 3000 mark Many more than this number were interested spedtators The thickest crowds of people lined Mississaga street as the parade marched under the signs of welcome and waving flags and banners Despite the large number of mar chers at the Oval Parade Marshal Karl Brown got the people moving off sharp at oclock and headed by the Orillla Kiltie Band they moved down Patrick and William streets to Mississaga street Along the ministry and will be ordained in the Church of England next year RAIL STRIKE OFF 17 CENTS SETTLES Less than 24 hours before the threatened railway strike was to go into effect Labor Minister Humphrey Mltchcll announced from Ottawa that settlement had been reached for the railway employees to receive 17 cents an hour dat lng back to March The railway unions had been demandingiio cents and con ciliation board had previously recommended an increase of seven cents an hour The wage increase will benc fit hundreds of railway em ployees throughout the Allan dale Division of the ONE as well PRIZE WINNING LODGE The best Loyal Orange Lodge on parade was the Midland Lodge The Baxter Lodge was the best of the Loyal Orange Benevolent Associa tions the Elmvale Lodge was judged the best of the Orange Young Britons and idhurst car ried off the honors for the best Loyal True Blue Lodge New Lo well had the best banner and Bol ton the best fife and drum band Gravcnhurst Juvenile Lodge was given first prize in its class special prize for the oldest Orangeman in the parade went to William Brittain of Waverley Mir Brittain is 91 years of age and he rode in car along the route He has been member of the Orange Order for 73 years SPEAKING AT THE PARK The highlight of the afternoon at the Park was program of short addresses by several leading Orangemen cf the district Karl corned the visitors to
