Skating Clubs loth annual carnival presented Walt Disneys Sleeping Beauty Sleeping Beauty the main number on the program gave all the junior and primary members of the club the chance to show off their skating abil ities Beverley Simmons jun ior Iadics champion of 1962 was featured as the Sleeping Beauty Musical accompaniment by the Barrie Collegiate Band in cluded selections by Tschaikow sky Lerner and Loewe Rich ard Rodgers Cole Porter and Morton Gould Second half of the program included two solos by Dundas skating champion Donald Knight and one by club pro fessional Suzanne Emms who also produced and directed the show The shows grand finale was hlilitaire Royale display of precision formations done to Eric Coates Knightsbridge March with 32 members of the cast taking part large audience turned up at the arena for the show with many parents on hand to see the result of their childrens lessons The audience was estimated at 2500 Ferdinand the Bull was one of the cleverest and most amus ing numbers in the show with Georgia Dowthwaite and Suz anne Emms teaming up as El Toro and matador Lorrie Smith putting on line display of bull fighting in the best Spanish tralt dition REAL STARS The use of variety of color ed spotlights in each number was extremely effective and narration by Milt Conway of the Sleeping Beauty story add ed to the presentation Although there were num ber of solo performances on the program the real stars of the show were the extras the scores of children who played peasants animals birds stars Plan Views jewels rainbows and fairies Costume conveners were Mrs Troyer Mrs Arm strong Mrs Gerow Mrs Pierce and Mrs Woods who came up with de signs which were appropriate and colorful Producer Suzanne Emms was assisted by Mrs Georgia Dowthwaite
