During the past few days large number of Barrie hotel owners haveidecided not to carry Formosa Spring productsontheirpremises If wearewonderingwhy Themoveapparently had something to do with our intention to introduce aconvenience draught beenpatkageiorhonteconsumption But We dontunderstand your reaction Home consumption draught beer has been highly successful throughout Europe for several years The figtIresshow thatlicencee sales were actually increased after itsintrbducti9nlbecauseitcreated at greaterinterestin draughtbeer We ourselves now enjoy about fourpercentbf the draughtbeer sales on licenced premises We obviously would not have made this move if we thought itwould hurt that existing draughtbusiness Since we are the smallest brewery in Ontario we must be innovativeto survive against the big three Toronto breweries who each have approximately onethird of the market It has been obvious for many years that the average consumer has wanted to be able to enich his draught beer at home We thought we should give him that chance Likeyou we arein the business of vservingthe public One other thing We came to Barrie because we thought it anideal location We like the the town we like the people and We think they like us We believe that our being here will help open upa Whole new wave of industrial development with resultant increased tax revende forthe municipality increased job opportunitiesforlocal residents and increased dollars fer the merchants We ourselves employ more than 100 people in our Barrie plant We will contributeztmore than $500000 each year inthe form of nitinicipal taxes and payment for water electricity and other services We also intend to grow The pattern we have setwith our antipollution controls at our Barrie plant will also set the pace for other industries that come after us In this way the whole community will gain In addition we are building 60acre conservation and recreation area thatwill when completed attract visitors ir0m all parts of the United States and Canada Most of these visitors will stay in Barrie andspend many valuabletourist dollars here Oiall the places We do business in we had particularly hoped to receive support in Barrie This is now our home town and we have done everything possibleto be good corporate citizen That is why we cannot understand why this action was taken We are still wondering why Nerman BWright President Formosa Spring Brewery
