The kits will provide everything needed to create the garden, including tools, resources, and assistance on planting day, as well as advice and educational presentations about pollinators. Recipients will also receive a workshop on eco-spirituality, with tools and resources specific to faith and nature. To apply, send an email to cread@ greeningsacredspaces.net with your name and the name of your community, along with a brief description of why you want to create a pollinator garden, and who will care for it. Communities not selected as winners will Greening Sacred Spaces and Oakvillegreen are providing Oakville faith communities and schools the opportunity to transform their backyard, schoolyard or garden space into a habitat that will not only look great, but one that is encouraging for the environment, welcoming butterflies and pollinators. Oakville faith-based groups (schools or places of worship) can now apply for one of three free native garden kits, worth $225, to help crestill have the opportunity to purchase the kits and work with Oakvillegreen and Greening Sacred Spaces to create a pollinator garden. The due date for ordering kits is April 4. Habitat loss is one of the main causes of biodiversity decline. Through transforming our outdoor spaces we can all take action to reverse habitat loss right in our own backyards, according to Oakvillegreen.
