instance there is the Land of Oz ruled by the Wizard Alices Wonderland and the delightful world of Peter Pan But even more immediate and fascinating is the world of children One of my favorite pastimes is watching children this special world of theirs Below are iew of this lands inhabitants metthls week And since its ladies first its my pleasure to introduce MISS ANN KATHERINE TIERNEY Ann Walk TORONTO CPI Merl Sim mons is of St Lucia British West Indies went to the Toronto General Hospital last August for new boot and braces to help support her left leg cripped by polio four years ago But it looks as if shell never need them Doctors told her they could fix the leg with two operations one an the hip and theothcr on main tendon in the ankle Merl was thrilled by thenews but found the Board of JarrettCreighton were present ed their County Honours for the completion of six Homemaking Hub units Maureen Harrington Howkestone was prescnted the Ontario Womens Institute Schol arship by Mrs Earl Scott Pres ident of the Simcoe East District of the Womens institute The scholarship is awarded in two girls in Ontario each year and we are very pleased that Maur een received II this year She certainly is deserving of it She was recently preseoled with the Ontario Nursing Scholarship at tho Capping Ceremony at Royal Victoria Hospital The Achievement Day was cllmnx to the Supper Club unit Ench Club member was required to show class of tea biscuits at the Achievement Day and most of them were very mouthwater ing All parents should be proud of the accomplishments of their daughters
