Former teacher faces new charges by Sean Wetselaar Toronto Star 13 | Friday, January 30, 2015 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Further charges have been laid against a Toronto man arrested in the fall in connection with sexual assaults spanning 30 years. Police allege from the mid-'60s to the mid-'90s, two men sexually assaulted boys and men who were 11-30 years old at the time. Both men were charged after victims came forward to report the alleged assaults to police over a span of several weeks in September 2014. The men are dual Canadian-Mexican citizens and though police said all the assaults allegedly happened in Ontario, they hoped Mexican authorities would help distribute the news. The men had been living together as partners since the 1960s and spent their winters in the Puerto Vallarta area. James Brian Wickens, 68, of Toronto was charged with four counts of indecent assault on males and two counts of gross indecency. David Ralph Cole, 77, of Toronto was charged with three counts of indecent assault on males and five counts of gross indecency. Since their fall arrest, police now allege a man sexually assaulted a number of victims ranging in age from five to 30 during the same time span. Cole has been further charged with five counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual interference. Police say Cole was a department head at Sheridan College's Oakville campus in the 1980s, and that he has strong ties to the Toronto area. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 6. Police believe there may be more victims. -- Torstar News Services An Oakville woman is facing charges after a police officer was allegedly assaulted on Monday night following a traffic accident.
