alderman Percy Craw ford stormed out of town coun cil meeting early this week duri ing row over appointment or another alderman to fill seat made vacant by the deathof Deputy Reeve Clinton Smith Alderman William Orr moved up to deputy reovo and the mo tion in question called for elec lion or appointment of merchant Walter Woods as the new alder man Mr Crawford contended Mrs Hec Adams should that crown attorneys should certainly be allowed to address juries All too often the Coroners do not explain their duties properly he added referring to the iuries Neglect of recommendations and cursory verdicts hall often resulted from lack of instruc tion from coroner he said Dr Gemmell commented that although crown attorneys could address and instruct iurics would like to see cor oners trained to do it them selves HALF ADEQUATE Crown Attorney lhomp son said 50 per cent of the 20 coroners in Simcoedid their instruction adequately The question of whether coroner could give evidence at his own inquest was answered by Dr Smith who said if at all possible coroner should call in another coroner if it was necessary that he give evidence In the administration of justice said ltir Silk np
