Centennial Week the staff organized and undertook ar rangements for the afternoon re union at the collegiate and the board opened the school to the public very successful and en joyable afternoon tea and garden party was held stated Mr Bow man He congratulated the staff president Norman Synnott and Mrs Cockburn tea convener on its success It was estimated that about 1000 people enjoyed the social gettogether The concert in the Arena spon sored by the Barrie Collegiate Band during Centennial Week was an outstanding success The Centennial Band thrilled large audience of over 2600 The guest performers rounded out program that we shall recall with enjoyment and pride The band also competed in the top Canadian National Exhibition competition and came second fol an Air Force band from Hamilton It was awarded prize of 300 dollars Courses of study have not been changed much at the school this year with the exceptionof certain natural developments shop home economics and agricul ture options have moved up to GradeXI leveL Agriculture has also been offered in Grade as an alternative for art and vocal music for boys About 50 boys chose this option Registration at the collegiate this
