SANT, Anthony Benjamin With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Anthony Benjamin, a dear son, brother, uncle and friend on January 1, 2015 in his 60th year. Despite battling both physical and mental illness for most of his life, Tony maintained a positive attitude and a love of people. His determination and strength during his last years amazed us all. Tony's many passions included art, history, the pursuit of knowledge, a good debate, radio trivia contests and music ranging from Beethoven to The Who. However, more than anything he wished for compassion toward those struggling with mental illness and hoped that a cure for schizophrenia would eventually be found. We will greatly miss him and his hearty and contagious laughter. Tony has gone to join his father, John. He leaves his mother, Mary, his siblings Al (Shelley), Joseph, Mary-Anne, John (Gabrielle) and Tracy Rivers (John), eleven nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.
