The Ohurch services at Eden United Church on Sunday evening, August 14, 1938. was conducted by members of the Hilton Young People's Union. An interested congregation from Sharon, Hilton and Eden was much impressed with the program prepared by these talented young people who. although finding the task unfamiliar, carried it through with decided ease. The choir consisted of young people and the chairman-, Grenville Cobble-dick who also presented a very interesting topic, was assisted by Raymond Brown, who read the Scripture. About 15 members and visitors were present and the meeting conducted by Mrs. Gordon Honey. Vioe-Ptresident. Following the opening devotional exercises and the reading of the minutes, two letters of thanks for gifts recently received from the W. A. were by the secretary from. Mrs. Will Thomas and Mrs. Walter Pearson. The program consisted of two readings by Mrs. J. Mutton and Mrs. Frank McDonald, and a contest conducted by Mrs, R. Stimers, which was won Mrs. W. Chesterfield: Mrs. Percy-Smith winning the booby prize. The next meeting, on September 14th, will be at the home of Mrs. E. Drinkwalter. A delicious lunch, con-isting of sandwiches. cake and tea and in addition the hostess serving potato salad, cabbage salad, pickles and jelly, was much enjoyed, so despite a rainy afternoon the meeting a deceided success.
