October 12, 2003 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a 5 year long courageous battle against Multiple Myeloma Darrel was a veteran of WW2, 3rd Division RCCS and Member Emeritus of the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Beloved husband ot Marion Rutherford for 51 years. Loving father of Cameron (Julie). Scott (Eve), Karen (Robert) and Colin (M arni). Cherished Papa of Graeme. Victoria, Russell. Marties. Gillian. "Pat' McEwen, Alda Nimmo and Claire Pritchard Graduating in pharmacy (U of T '52), he joined the RCAMC and left (Capt.) in 1958 to open a pharmacy in Oakville. Darrel joined Simpsons in 1963 as a director of the Robert Simpson Drug Co.. retiring in 1984 as Principal Buyer of the Drug& Cosmetics Dept. He was a Charter Member of the Oakville Probus Club and former director of the Oakville Public Library. Darrel had a lifelong interest in many areas including history, photography, languages and books. He was a kind and thoughtful man who was an encouraging mentor to many. He will be lovingly remembered always by his family for so many happy times together.
