Workers with the Town of Oakville's parks and open space department were out installing and securing a more than 20-foot Christmas tree in the Towne Square in downtown Oakville, in preparation for the upcoming downtown tree lighting ceremony and Santa Claus Parade. The tree lighting will take place between 6-9 p.m. Friday (Nov. 14) and the Oakville Santa Claus Parade will roll in 9 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 15). The parade will follow a route along Lakeshore Road through the downtown and head north on Kerr Street through Kerr Village. Kerr Village will also host its tree-lighting ceremony from 5-10 p.m. Friday in Heritage Square along with entertainment, carolers and Santa visits. Bronte Village will light up its holiday magic on Saturday, Nov. 22 with a carol sing and dance with Santa from 4-7 p.m. in Centriller Square.
