M orrison said when asked how he approached such a pressure kick. "T here's a lot o f people w ho have w orn these jerseys before us and failed to get this far. W e're doing it as m uch for them as w e are for our selves." M orrison w as the first C rusader to lift the M cC orm ick C up trophy as part o f O akville's w inning squad three years ago. O akville coach Jim D elaney said experi enced veterans like M orrison w ere the dif ference as the C rusaders rallied from sever al second-half deficits. " H e's not necessarily our first choice (of) kicker but it's alw ays good to have his talent on the field and be able to rely on him ," Delaney said. "T hat w as a 40 or 42m etre kick and it show s w hat kind o f char acter the guy's got. H e's a rock for the boys." G uy Vorster scored a second-half try to give O akville a 17-12 advantage before Balm y Beach responded with a penalty kick and drop goal to take an 18-17 lead, setting the stage for M orrison's heroics. "T h ey 're w ithout doubt one o f the best C up sides in the province and you can 't really (look at) what happened in the sea son," he said. "C up rugby is a little different. You grind stuff out and the team that m akes the low est errors (usually) ends up being the winner." T he coach also cited Layne Gardner. Neil A uger and C harles T hom pson as key contributors to the victory. O akville's third straight o f the playoffs. T he C rusaders ham m ered the O ttaw a B eavers 90-0 and dispatched the Aurora B arbarians 27-5 in their first tw o post-season contests. T he win qualified N elson for a m eeting w ith the A ssum ption Crusaders in this Friday's cham pionship g am e at H am ilton's Ivor W ynne Stadium . K ick-off is at 11 a.m. N elson q u arte rb ac k Scott Parkhill played a sm art gam e against the H aw ks, finishing the game with a touchdow n pass to A ndrew W ilson 'an d , perhaps most importantly, no intercep tions. "W e w ere ju st trying to exe cute plays and w e have been get ting better w eek by w eek," said Parkhill, 17. "W e d o n 't really tum it o ver that m uch any m ore." L oyola, on the other hand, turned the ball o v e r several tim es, including a costly bad snap on a punt attem pt late in the first half. N elson, 4-1 in regular season play, quickly capitalized as Sean Riley scored on a five-yard run for the L ords' second m ajor in 31 seconds and a 24-7 lead.
