Rq ecoîmmend Tenders For Trash Collection Tenders may be needed for garbage collection services in Orono, according to a recom- mendation from Newcastle's director of public works. In the past, residents have been paying three dollars per household per month to a private collector for garbage disposai services. But in a report to the public works committee iast week, works director Jack Dunham stated that no contracf for this job has been awarded. How- ever, the Orono garbage collection system has been approvedby a resolution of council. The director recommended that the municipality go through a tendering process in order to award a contract. The works committee agreed to leave this matter with the direct or of works, with power to act.
