Mrs. Spencer Morton and Mrs. Allan Smith, bath of Garden Hill visited on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Warren Carson and Miss Ona Gardiner. Mr. Ron Farrow, Tammy and Jody were Wednesday supper guests af Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fonk, Tanya and Peter. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Llew Hallowell celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary at a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Caswell. Meeting On Wednesday evening, November 2lst, the Shiloh U.C.W. held their regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Llew Hallowell with 16 ladies present. The meeting was condptcted by aur vice-president Mrs. Brian Caswell who opened the meeting with a prayer follow- ed by the singing of the hymn "In Christ there is no East or West". Mrs. Ross Todd read the devotional with a reading by Mrs. Clifford Fonk. The' minutes of the October meet- ing were read by the secretary Mrs. Ross Todd- and the treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Carl Tadd and correspondence by Mrs. Clifford Fonk. Our scheduled bus trip ta Peterborough for a day of shopping on Navember 27th was discussed. AIl ladies are asked ta save their Dominion Store tags and Canada Packers labels so that we may ahI ain free gifis ta be used in the church kitchen. The Sunday School Christ- mas Concert will be held on Sunday, December 16 in the aflernoan at the regular church worship ime. Our next, meeting will, be the Christ mas meeting and will be held on Wednesday evening, December 12 in the church with a supper and exchange of gifts ta which ail ladies of the community are invited. The meeting was closed with the Mizpah Benediction. A social hour and delicious lunch followed. Mrs. Jane Woodley present- ed the devotional period using the theme, "Friendship" and read ta us the story "Where love is, there is God", by Tolstoy. Jane then introduced our speaker,. Peggy Ridgeway from Mental Heaith Durham. A slide presentatian explained ta us how discharged mental health patients get re- established in the community with the programs of Mental Health, Durham's Hope Rehabilitation and the Hous- ing pragram. The Christmas program is underway now and this means preparing gifts for 750 patients. Suitable unwrapped donated articles would be gladly accepted and watch for a drap-box soon ta be in Bowmanville. Anne Moore and Florence Lawless had accompanied Peggy and these ladies had set up a beautif ul display of craf ts and Christmas handmade articles that were for sale during the evening. Af ter a delicious lunch-was Jane Woodiey, the business period was conducted by President Lorria Davey. The Christmas supper meet- ing will be at the Acres Restaurant on December l2th at 6:30 p.m. If you wish ta attend would you please have $5.50 ta Arlene Rowan or Doreen Park by December 7th. Wednesday, November 28th at 8:00 p.m. Tyrone Church Council executive will meet in the church hall. Sunday, December 9th the White Gift Service will be held at morning service and at 7: 00 p.m. also on the 9th, Tyrone Sunday School will hold its Christmas Pageant in the Sanctuary - The M & S allocation and Presbyterial UCW expenses were discussed.
