News: The Executive of Oshawa Presbyterial U.C.W.* met on Feb. 5, 9:30 a.m. at President Marilyn's home,' Newcastle, who wel- comed ail and read an opening meditation 'Humility'. Hec.- Sec. read minutes of recent previaus meetings. Corr.-Sec. read reply letter from Margaret Elliott. Treasurer 's report included recommenda- tion for Annual Meeting. Brief reports were by each depart- ment chairman. Final arrangements were made for Annual Meeting March 28, 1979 at St. Andrew's U.C. Oshawa where guest speaker will be Dr. Katharine B. Hockin. ELIZABETH McNICOL A resident of Oshawa for 56 years, Mrs. Elizabeth McNîcol died at the family residence, 207 Verdun Rd., Oshawa on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1979. The former Elizabeth Moly- neaux was born Oct. 23, 1894, at Hope Town, Ont., a daught- er of the: lage Mr. and. Mrs. George Mlyneaux. Shé was married Nov. 21, 1917, at Lanark, Ont. She was a charter member of St. Paul's Preshyterian Church, and a member of the Oshawa Senior Citizens' Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard McNicol, in 1953, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Groat of Oshawa; two grand- children, and four great grandchildren,. Mrs. McNicol rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa. Service was held in the chapel Thursday at 3 p.m. Interment Oshawa Union Cemetery. Rev. John Ander- son officiated. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart Fund would be appreciated. MRS. EVA MAY WILSON A resident of Oshawa and area ail her life, Mrs. Eva May Wilson died at Hillsdale Manor, where she was a resident, on Monday, February l2th, 1979. The former Eva May Hobbs was born April 27, 1883, in Oshawa (Taunton), a daught- er of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hobbs. She was married Aug. 29, 1899, in Columbus. Mrs. Wilson was predeceas- ed by her husband Frederick Louis Wilson who died in 1955, two sons, Herbert and Russell, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Gifford and Mrs. Blanche Beckell, and a brother, Herbert Hobbs. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs._E. F. Coppin (Ora), Mrs. Frank Johns (Lois), both of Oshawa, Mrs. Wilfred Hawke (Helen) of North Orono; two sons, Frank of Cleveland, Ohio, Lyall of Oshawa; a brother, Garnet Beckell of Oshawa; 18 grand- children, and severai great and great great grand- children. Mrs. Wilson rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Oshawa. Service was held in the chapel Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Charles Newton officiated. Our Reg.
