Mr. and Mrs. John Carhaw of Warkworth, were Monday evening callers with Mrs. Bea Jones. Mrs. Bea Jones was a visitor recently with' Mrs. Frances Henderson, at Hope Villa, Port Hope. Mrs. Kay Kimball and Mrs. Lena Graham of Newcastle were Tuesday visitors with Mrs. V. Gilmer. Sympathy of this commun- ity is expressed to Mrs. Anthony Ton, who received word of the very sudden death of her youngest brother, Mr. C. Van Triest, in Bunschoten, Holland. On'Saturday evening a group of a dozen young carollers entertained us, just before supper time, with some very mice singing of Christmas songs. Two of the Elders were the Greeters at our Church door Sunday morning,, Dec. 24. Rev. Tizzard was asked to corne in earlier than usual, s0 that the "4 M's" might sîng the Christmas poemn he had written, and which they had set to music as a surprise for him. Violet Gilmer accompan- ied them at the piano, and al enjoyed the unexpected treat. The 4th Advent Candle was lit by Vicki Kimbahi and Jackie Stapheton with Marlene - Stacey assisting. The theme of Rev. Tizzard's sermon was "Under the Wrap- pings", and several old fam- iliar Christmas carols were sung. Fhowers at the altar were in memory of Mr. Frank Gilmer and Mr. Harry Waddington. That evening at 7:30 the Youth Candle Light Service opened with the Cal to Worship by Marvin Staphe- ton.
