Uxbridge pumped home two goals in the first and second periods o take a 4-0 lead. Bowmaaville finally started o hustle and Greg Smith scored witb a hard shot from the blue line through a maze of players, witb the assist going o Kevia Welsb to end the second period 4-1 in favor of Uxbridge. -The checking was much tigbter in the final period and botb teams settled for a goal, Terry DeLuca scoring for Bowmanville Delta Faucet with assists going Vo AI Turaey and Brian Canfield. Bowman- ville had the man advantage often during the game with Uxbridge picking up seven penalties o our. three, how- ever could noV seem o capitalize on the situation. ,On Saturday, November 25tb, Delta Faucet Midgets played host Vo a powerful Bay Ridges team, at the Darlington Sports Centre. Playing a bard check- ing flrst baîf, Delta Faucet Midgets held Bay Ridges in check for almost two periods. However, a penalty-filled third perlod proved their downfall, resulting in a loss. Bay Ridges are undefeated so, far this season. The visitors opened the scoring and a goal by Kevin Welsh, unassisted, tied it up. The first period ended Bay Ridges 2, Bowman- 'ville 1. On Monday, November 27th, Delta Faucet Midgets travel- led o Port Perry and had their hands full o salvage a 4-4 ie with a scrappy Port Perry team. Bowmanville built up a 2-0 lead in the first period. Steve Huisman opened the scoring early, assists going o Brian Canfield and Brent Tbompson, then Marc Ric- hards scored assisted by Jeff Edmondson. Port Perry stormed back in the second Vo take a 3-2 lead, however Delta Faucet regained their poise and before the end of the second period, Steve Huismnan talled two more goals, giving hlm a well-earned bat trick, with Brian Canfield assisting on both goals. The second period ended Bowmanville 4 Port Perry 3. The third period sbowed' bard checkiag fromn botb clubs, bowever Pdt Perry managed a goal at the 6:23 mark to even the score at 4-4. Port Perry had numerous chances Vroughout the gamne o pull ahead but, thaaks o fine goaltending by Terry Coombes, Delta Faucet came home witb a ie. The Bowmanville Delta Faucet Midget No. 2 team bas received good parent support, win or lose, and we urge al parents o continue o come out and enjoy watching the boys play. The game was 5 minutes old when the Mother's boys scor- ed, Jamie Bird from Chris McCloskey. Bowmanville tied the score on a power play goal at 13.20, Todd Hooper and Dana Peebles setting up Captain Tim Almond. The second period belonged to the Pizza boys as they scored 4 unanswered goals; two each by Joe Calacicco and Peter Kuhar, assists to Ron Duschl -2, Chris Coulson -2, Dave Martin - 2, Todd Smegal and Chris McCloskey one. The Bowmanville boys killed ail their penalties and came to life la the third and held the edge in play, scoring the only two goals of the period. Todd Hooper unassist- ed and Mark McLean fromn Todd Hooper and Scott Pater- son. Final Oshawa 5, Bowmanville 3 On Monday the Toros played their third game in as many days (the NHL is not as tough). Bay Ridges was the opposition, but Bowmanville held them off the scoreboard until 8.49 of the second period. Todd Hooper tied up the game unassisted at 11.31. The Bay Ridges Minor Midgets scored 3 in the third before Bowmanville struck again when Mark Mathews scored unassisted to finish the game. Bay Ridges 4, Bowmaaville 2 December started out on a down note when the Ajax H-ustiers came to town on Saturday the second. The opposition pulled one out of the Toros, bag of tricks and jumped on the Bowman- ville teamn for 41 goals in the first. Coach Hooper' tried Vto get things goiag and changed goaltenders but to no avail. Ajax struck for 3 more in the second before the Toros final- ly came to life and after killiag off two penalties fiaally hit the score board at 14:33 of the second period. The Bowmanville boys played stronger in the third period, kept Ajax off the scoresheet and added one. more goal. Todd Hooper got both goals assisted by Doug Dilling and Mark McLeaa and Paul Dadson. Ajax 7, Bowmanville 2 On Sunday, December 3' Bowmanville Toros visited Cobourg for their third match of the young season. The Cobourg crew jumped to a two goal lead inside of 3 minutes and 8 seconds. This time the Toros caught fire early in game and outplayed the opposition for the remainder of the game. They scored one in the first period, Todd Hooper assisted by bis wingers Scott Paterson ,and Doug Dilliag., The Bowmanville boys bad, at least 8 more scoring oppor- tuaities but coulda't find-the mark until 1.18 of the third when Dana Peebles was set up be Tim Almond. The Cobourg boys were outplayed and were lucky Vo come up with a tie. Craig German kept themn off the scoreboard for, the last 42 minutes of the gaine.
