The organist was Miss Anita Wierdsma. -The bride's parents are Mr. and -Mrs. Hains (Tetsje) Muizeiaar, R. R. 1, Bowman- ville and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas (Margaret) Murphy, R. R.1 Pontypooi. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a formai gown of white taffeta with lace appliques on the sleeves and down the front of the gown. Wearing a white headpiece with a floor iength train trimmed with the same lace, she carried a bouquet of white silk primroses, tangerine silk roses, and silk baby's breath. The bride's attendants were Misses Jenny Muizelaar, We extend congratulations to our minister, Rev. Aubrey Tizzard, on the completion of his book, "Methoclism - A Flame". The book will be on sale in about four weeks. Mr. Tizzard- began wrltlng the book when living in Moncton, and finished it some time ago. It is the history of the Methodist and United Churches, in the Dorchester Area, of New Brunswick. The "Lucky Luncheon", sponsored by Guides, Brownies and their parents, in the church hall, Thursday poon, was attended by about seventy-fîve. Parents did the serving, and various produets were given away. A "Tupperware Demonstra- tion" was heid a the home of Mrs. Betty StLpleton, on Thursday evening. About a den people attended, and Mrs. Connie Lane, of Peter- borough, was the demonstrat- or. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Boughen were among those attending the Junior Hockey game in Oshawa Thursday night, Wallace having won the Lions' Draw Ticket for that game. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Ton, whose 45th Wedding Anniversary was celebrated, Thursday. Newtonville U.C.W. met in the Church Hall, on Tuesday evening of last week and President Carole Gardner welcomed ail, and tuned the meeting over to Unit Leader Bea Jones, who opened with the hymn, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." She was assisted in the Devotional by Carole Gardner, Bernice Mii- ligan, and Amelia Lancaster. As the theme was "Wisdom For Youth" two girls, Char- lene Zeatsma and Kim Gilm- er, san an enjoyable duet, "I Leaned To Pray." Next came askit by 4H Club members, "The Annual Danceathon," inciuding four couples. After a five minute intermission, couple No. 32 was chosen as winner. Bea Jones gave an înterest- ing account of various impor- tant parts played by young people in the past, who were good examples of the importance of true Christiani- ty., The two girls, Chariene and Kim sang a second duet, "It Is No Secret", af ter which lunch was served by the group, and the young people withdrew, after an expression of thanks. Minutes of previous meeting were ready by Secretary Jean Kimbali, and Financial Report by Treasurer Shirley Stapleton. The choir gowns were cleaned, free of charge, and appreciation is being sent the cleaners. About four hundred dollars was cleared from the annual bazaar. and the costs of advertising, seven dollars and a haîf, were paid by Violet Gilmer, as a donation. A "Get Well" card was sent to Harry Worrall, who suffer- ed a recent accident, while pouring cement. A letter from Jean'and Roy Biekie was passed around, to be read by the members, fifteen of whom were in attendance. The December meeting will be held at an earlier date, than the usuai one. There was a suggestion made, to have our bazaar, or bake sale in the spring next time, rather than in the fali, when there are so many other similar affairs. There were 10 tables in play, at the card party in Communi- ty Hall, Friday evening, with the following winners : - High lady - Helen White, high man - Scott Yeo, 50-50 - Mrs. Gordon. Draws - ladies - Mrs. May Buriey, Mrs. Irene Burley; men, - Aif Graham, Robin Alidread. " Two Korean ministers wilI visit this pastoral charge today, (Monday), from 2 - 9 p.m. They wil he escorted around this area by Ewart Robinson, Jim Adams, and Leonard Falls, ending up with a pot-luck supper, here in our church hall at 5:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. there will be hymn sing, here. 7:15 - Siide Presentation by the Korean Ministers; 7:45 - Question and Answer Period; 8:45 - Hyma Sing, here; 9 p.m. - Ministers leave for Oshawa. Sunday afternoon, Nov. 26, the fnhinwing received the Sacrament of Baptism, in Newtonville United Church: Jason Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Westwood; Michael Wallace, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raiph Poliard; Mrs. Betty Stapleton; Roxanne May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollard; Dwayne Frederick and William Scott, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Poilard. Rev. Tizzard officiat- ed, assisted by Mrs. Bea Jones, Clerk of the Session. Foliowing the service, Rev. and Mrs. Tizzard, and Mrs. Bea Jones enjoyed a delicious dinner served by the Pollard families at the Crooked Creek T[he home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Poilard. Sorry to hear 'that Miss Wendy Lane, of Port Hope, is in hospitai in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, as the resuit of an accident. We wish her a speedy recovery.
