At the Ontario Champion Horseshoe Pitching Tourna- ment at the CN.E. on Sunday, Roy MeLaughlin placed third in' 'A' class and on Saturday brother Harold placed seventh in 'B' class. Also on Saturday Walter Pascoe of Port Perry captured first place in the Senior Citizens division. Con- gratulations men! Twenty-seven enjoyed an evening unit U.C.W. corn boil on Friday night at the home of Larry and Beth Schryburt. During the evening, articles ready for the fair were displayed. The, girls were also asked to volunteer an hour of their time to work in the booth on fair day. Any members having a free hour on Fair day please contact Beth Schryburt as many time slots are stili blank. Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Drink- water, Mary and Randy, Ottawa were Saturday over- night guests at' Wilma's mother, Mrs. W.W. VanCamp enroute to Brampton to help celebrate Ron's father's 9th birthday, Mr. Charles Drink- water. Mr. and Mrs. George Bryant and family and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Locke and family spent a f ew days at the Provincial Park, Balsam Lake. A fine attendance of Direc- tors of the Blackstock Agrîcul- tural Society met in the community room on Monday evening. Various committees were set up for fair day on Aug. 28th. Plans were also made for a work bée for evening 23th. Anyone who wishes to help with our fair just phone, the President or Secretary to offer your ser- vices. It was decided to ask Cliff Pethick to be M.C. for the milking contest. Bill Deegan of C.F.R.B. i s very enthused ~abo 1 coming to our fair again this year. The Director's are delighted thiat the D.S. park- dancers will be performing in the afternoon 'and during the evening dance. These dancers have toured Canada'and will be a most excit ing attraction to our fair. A survey of the visitors will be made by a group of young ladies in attempt to learn which adver- tisement is most successful and which attractions are most liked. Walter Wright reported that the concessions in the rink are aIl booked. Edda Bowman reported that we will have wood working, spînning, macrame, togs for dogs, and others in a craft room. Adjourned was made with hopes for a fine day. There is to be a shower in the Parish Hall this week in honour of another bride-to-be,, Miss Jill Wood.
