News The students of Courtice Secondary School have cer- tainly been quite busy lately. Their drama club has just completed four successful nights of performance of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical, South Pacifie. The students also have done a very good job of collecting quite a large sum af money, strictly from within the stu- dent body, for the Participa- tion House Telethon. The students Who took part in it enjoyed working at the Tele- thon as well. Our teams have also been busy preparing for up and coming events in Track and Field. The school's spring prom will be held on Friday, May l4th in the Guild Hall at the Holiday Inn in Oshawa. The Annual Music Night will be held on Thursday, May 2th in the BHS auditorium. This night will feature the fabulous rock group, the Par Four, along with the junior, inter- mediate, and senior school bands. In addition ta preparing for music night, the bands are also practising for the Oshawa Kiwanis Festival. They hope ta achieve first class standings in their categary once again. Funds contributed ta the Canadian Cancer Society and allocated ta research are used ta erect new buildings at research centres ta pay the salaries of full-time scientists, laboratory technîcians and assistants and ta buy essential materials and equipment for the cancer research laborator- ies.
