With the president,1 Pete Rowett, presiding the meeting was opened with O'Canada and the minutes were read by Mrs. Ruth Ruth and the treasurers report was given by Mrs. Carl Porteous. An invitation to attend a famnily night at Pontypool on May 5 was accepted. A thank you note was read from Norman Braithwaite and e, et well wishes were sent to rank White and Wm. Jordan. Mrs. Belle Smith gave an account of a meeting attended in Peterborough in lieu of preparations for Senior Citi-, zens work wich begins on June 15. The nomination committee consîsting of Mrs. Margaret Wright, Airs. Rhea Jordan and Mrs. Electa Smith brought in the following officers, the election being conducted by Mrs. Violet Carr: President, Pete Rowett; Vice President, Mrs. Belle Smith; Secretary, Mrs. Winnifred Strong; Assis- tant Secretary, Mrs. Violet Carr; Treasurer, Mrs. Iva Porteous; Assistant Treasur- er, Mrs. Lucy Borrow; Craft Conivenor, Mrs. Grace De- Geer; Assistant craft conve- nor, Mrs. Iva Porteous; Ticket and prize convenor, Mrs. Florrie Driver; Piantist, Mrs. Lillian( Fallis; Assistant pian- ist, Mrs. Violet Carr; Card table convenors, Pete Borrow, Sick and bereaved convenor, Mrs. Irene MacDonald;- Pub- lic relations convenor, Mrs. Belle Smith, Bethany and Charles Smith, Cavan. Pete Rowett suggested a Senior Citizens choir be form- ed and also a contest be run regarding a name that could involve the three villages, Bethany, Ballyduff and Ca- van. A vote of thanks was given to the president for the work lie and other members accom- plished during the past year and he thanked the memibers for their help and co-opera- tion. Electa Smith gave a humorous entertaining programme Twvo songs by the group consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Smith, Mrs. Lillian Fallis, Mrs. Mary Morton, Mrs. Ruth Traynor, Mrs. Mlildred Braithwaite and Mrs. Ruth Ruth and Wmi. Armitage were the opening numbers. Mucli laughter resounded when they presented a silent skit, the setting being "A waiting room" and then a playlet entitled "Interview- ing" and the hiring of a servant "girl". A harmonica solo was rendered by Wm. Armitage and Mrs. Ruth Ruth gave a reading "Just what the Dr. ordered". Euchre \vas played for the rest of thec afternoon; high scores going to Mirs. Ruth Traynor and Mirs. Dorena Clark and low scores to Mrs. Mildred Braithwaite and Mrs. Lila Kerr.
