O akville C hristian School (OCS) students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade eight are challenged to achieve their very best. This year our students from grade tw o through eight wrote the CAT 3 and ranked in the top 14% nation-wide. Every year, the students from OCS w rite the Canadian Achievement Test (CAT 3) at the end o f April. The CAT 3 is made up of a battery o f eight different tests that measure the stu dents' basic skill in Language Arts and Math. These tests are written by public and private schools across Canada. This year. OCS ranked in the top 14% nation-wide, up from last year's ranking of U nder the tutelage of loving 17%. Twenty-three students ranked in the top 1% with another 10 students ranked in the top 2%. O verall, O CS' students grade equiv alent averaged two gradelevels above the grades they are currently in. O ver the past five years, OCS graduates have ranked in the top 20% in Canada. 25% to 25% above the national norm. These results come from a student body of 275, and from a school that does not require high entrance marks for admit tance. H ow ever. OCS school life goes well beyond aca demics and a strong, wellrounded curriculum . OCS includes: An academic school where Christian morals and values are taught and mod elled. A science program that produces regional sci ence fair winners A thletic team s that compete in nine different sports, starting as early as grade two (Cham pionship basketball teams the past four years). Clubs that compete regionally and provincially in spelling bees, speech meets and math com peti tions. A music program that trains vocal and instrumen tal groups that represent the school at different com m u nity functions. A family atmosphere with 275 students.
