Secretary-Treasurer of RAFES, Canadian Branch. It is with very sad hearts that we share that Roy's borrowed time is finally at an end. Roy died peacefully with his daughter and granddaughter at his side on October 7, 2014 at the Ian Anderson House, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary (2011) and his cherished son, Clare (2014). Much loved father to Paul and Connie Morris of Kemble and father-in-law to Margaret Johnstone of Cambridge. Forever loved grandpa to Jeff Morris (Nicole Galambos) of Hinton, Alberta; Cheryl Morris (Karl Shaw) of Kingston; and Michael and Sarah Brown of The Woodlands, Texas. Adored greatgrandpa to Ashley, Isabelle, Emily and Cassie Brown. Fondly remembered Grandpa and GreatGrandpa to Marg's family. Dear friend of Betty Moore of Abbotsford, BC. Roy has many friends and extended family in the Kootnays of BC who will miss him dearly. When Roy was training with the RCAF he almost fell out of his parachute and then when shot down on his first mission, he always said he was living on borrowed time! Dad was an evader, (and most thankful to the helpers who sheltered him in Brussels), a POW and then he escaped from the "Last Train Out of Brussels". Dad retired after 42 years with Cominco Ltd. Dad and Mom loved to have their family nearby and we all cherish many family celebrations together. They enjoyed many years of camping in successively larger trailers all across Canada and visiting family and friends. Special thanks for the tender loving care from Dr. Martha Graham over many years and the wonderful IAH staff for the last week. Visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
