Bronte coat drive event Oct. 18 The Bronte Village Stakeholders third annual coat distribution event is set for Saturday, Oct. 18. Donations of gently-used, clean winter outwear, in all sizes, for men, women and children, have been accepted since August at the Oakville Fire Department Bronte Station. The event will be held at St. Dominic Elementary School's gym, 2405 Rebecca St., and various service agencies have been invited to attend, such as Fare Share food bank, Halton Multicultural Council, Kerr Street Ministries, Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre, SAVIS and local churches. Members of those organizations will be able attend between 9 a.m.-noon. The event will be then open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. There is a limit of one coat/jacket per person who attends. "We encourage people to bring their children so sizing will be appropriate. By limiting the number of items per person in attendance, it will allow that we have enough sizes and choices for everyone," stated a press release. "Let's keep everyone warm this winter and make this drive a success with coats of all sizes for adults and children. The potential recipients will make the drive a success just by coming out and taking the warmth home with them."
