It raised approximately $3,000. A judge, prosecutor and jailbirds acted out courtroom scenarios that saw ctitious, humorous charges read aloud, sentences handed down and jailbirds having to come up with their bail in order to be freed from the makeshift jail in the mall's centre court. Clockwise from top left, pictured, from left, are: Shannon Ella from radio station KX94.7fm, Mia Huot and Crystal Leochko of Brash Avenues not happy with their plight. Telus employee Fatima Qureshi, who turned herself in while passing by, patiently awaits bail. Cadet Samantha Coysh opens the door to freedom for one jailbird while Det. Constable Paul Proteau watches over Ella as she appears before the judge. Meanwhile, Leochko kept busy while awaiting bail by not being a model inmate. Crime Stoppers of Halton is a not-for-pro t volunteer organization that pays rewards of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest. Crime Stoppers operates in cooperation with the police, media, and community, taking anonymous tips on criminal activity at 1-800-222-8477, Facebook, online, or by texting "tip201" and a message to 274637. | photos by Eric Riehl Oakville Beaver (@halton_photog) Volume 52 | Number 115 447 Speers Road, Oakville ON (905) 845-3824 Oakville Beaver is a member of the Ontario Press Council.
