The chorus is a non-profit, highly-disciplined, performance-based choir for persons with emotional, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. "It is an opportunity to see past disability and share the choir's vision to belong, believe and inspire in their original theme song, See Me As Me," stated a news release. The unique Niagara-Region-based choir is currently in its eighth year. "To hear them sing is a profound emotional experience," Mendelt Hoekstra, Momentum's executive and artistic director, said in the release. "The future is open for Momentum because this is a group and segment of Canada that can really inspire this country. The concert, which starts at 7 p.m. at the 2700 Bristol Circle church, will benefit Community Living Oakville and Kerr Street Ministries. It will also feature the Niagara choir To the King Male Chorus as a special guest. Tickets cost $15 each and are available at the door or online at http://goo.gl/ZrVx1m. Momentum's repertoire includes everything from Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah to Lady Gaga's Born This Way. "We are opening the eyes of the arts community," Hoekstra said in the release.
