No official champion in U15 girls' play continued from p.77 Pfeifer, Bodin Ingaldson, Logan Harris, James Hall, Kanishka Almeida, Charlie Biggar and Graydon Gillingham. Terry Bennell, Simon Puddefoot, Kerry Williamson, Geoff Bowman, Jean Paul Desmerais, Richard Schooling and Richard White are assistant coaches. U15 girls The U15 Crusaders girls defeated their three festival division opponents by a combined score of 100-5. Oakville's wins came over the Brantford Harlequins (48-0), Peterborough Pagans (250) and an amalgamated squad of players from the Aurora Barbarians, Fergus Highlanders, Norfolk Harvesters and Stoney Creek Camels (27-5). "There is no Ontario championship trophy or recognition for U15 girls, but as far as anyone who witnessed the games... there is no doubt who is the best team in the province," assistant coach Richard Schooling wrote on the Crusaders' website. Schooling added that last weekend's opponents had played the Crusaders fairly evenly during the regular season, suggesting that the blowout scores showed how much Oakville improved throughout the year. The team roster includes Sela Caskenette, Hanna Reidy, Niamh Reidy, Kira Ramroop, Hannah Petriv, Sarah Cowle, Madison Pery, Sarah O'Connell, Lindsey Butt, Sydney Pastorek, Jessika Hurd, Kelsey Gerynowicz, Mengjie Dai, Bridget Peros, Simone Oliveira, Thea White, Josie Marshall, Dana Surtees, Sydney Oitomen, Hannah Morton, Taylor Black, Annie-Rose Johnson and Renee Flicko. Richard White also coaches the team and Peter Black is the manager. -- Photos of the Arrows, Lancers and U15 girls can be viewed at www.oakvillebeaver.com SEPTEMBER CONDITIONING CAMPS ARE BACK! Teams could face each other next year continued from p.77 no other team has, having played together since we were 10 years old... but now we get together two days before nationals and then go. Unless it's Christmas time or Thanksgiving, we don't really see each other." Other members of the Hardy Heroes are Drew Lyon, Nic Festarini, James Smith, Tommy Hubbs, Robert Koutsouvelis, Bryan Campbell and Vincent Cristiano. The club is sponsored by Sherwin-Williams Canada Division, whose president and general manager, Paul Clifford, lives in Oakville. The Jr. Hardy Heroes won eight straight games -- the first five by a combined score of 42-13 -- to reach the Grinders final, where they fell 7-6 to the Shediac Patriotes. Members of the junior squad are Michael Romaniw, Anthony Salis, Bradley Jones, Alex Festarini, Stuart Elias, Vincent Romaniw and Matt Lyon. Chris Festarini said he's happy for younger brother Alex -- for now. "(Alex is) so passionate about it. He didn't play OHL or rep hockey. It was house league or high school, and now this is kind of his big thing," Chris said. "Next year, some of the team will be older than 19 and in the elite division, so we might have to play them in round-robin or even the finals. "We all joke around on the street. But if we go to these tournaments and have to play each other... things might be a bit different." -- Photos of the two teams can be viewed at www.oakvillebeaver.com J&N Painters Ltd. 416-890-3374 Paint All 905-822-9338 Peter Kirouac 905-330-8476 Richard Professional Painting 647-449-1775 Xtreme Pro Painting 905-334-2120 paViNG C.
