I ni YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF YOU OWEIT T BO - - - - - - - ___ __ Which Wi11 BeSubmiîtted W es BECAUSE the new company is living up to the working terms contained in the or- iginal by-law. BECAUSE the town solicitor who prepared the by-Iaw, stated that he saw no reas, onl why the by-law should not pass- BECAUSE the resolutioný to submit the byl-aw passed the Council unanimously. BECAUSE the town- is under no expense in submitting this by-iaw. Company pays ahl expenses ini con nection with it, BECAUSE the company is paying to its present factory employees over $900 a week or $50.000. per year; this is exclusive of office staff wages. BECAUSE the continuing of this factory means highest wages to non-skilled labor, both maie and female. Too often our young. people have gone to Tor- onto and other ciies for employment and their families followed them. Provide the right kind of amploy- ment anîd keep the young people in JçQwmanviIIe, company are men of welI-known ex.- ecutive ability and are also associat. ed with other successfual industries. BECAtJSË' the citizens are not ca11ed upon fo stake any further wïoney on thîs in- dustry by voting for this by-iaw. Be Loyal BECAUSE the produets of this conceru will not be affected to any great extent by hard times as the deinand for cans and containers is almost un- imited. BECATJSE if this by-law is defeated tho im- pression wîll go abroad that Bow- manville does not want to encourage new industries and any work of the Town Council and Chamber of Commerce in seeking new factories will be of no avait. BECAUSE the present company saved~ this con- cern fromi going into liquidation and saved the town from having a "white elephanCt on its bauds. BECAUSE the company bas on its pay rol over 50 employees. BECAUSE the new company1 has a strong financial backing with ample cap- ital which will permit expansion of business. BECAUSE the proposition in ail its details is safe, Sound and practical. Direct- ors of present company are NOT "-promoters," BECAUSE the can and container business is permanent and of la desirable char- acter, They have passed the ex- perimental stage, IIECAJYSE the demand for Ross Co., Products is increasing. To Vour' Local arch1lOth BECAUSE new industries mean larger sources of employment for town workers and greater opportunity for young people. It means Bowmanville will have a still larger range of manufactured products andnmore money in a general circulation around town. BECAUSE the present cornpany was assured last year that if it took over the defunet company and operated the plant the town would- reduce the penalty clause., The company is living up to the obligation& It1VΣ now up týo the town to carry out, its promise by voting for theby law. BECAUSE no industry in town was ever ask- ed to'carry such a penalty clause as was contained in the original agreement. The Goodyear Co. penalty clause is only $8030, while this by-law places the penalty clause at $10, 000, BECAUSE this by-law has nothing to do with the sale price of the factory build- -ing-which- is- set--in - the -original agreement at $45, 000. BIECAUSE the Directors of the company as- sure the citizens they have no in- tentions of moving the plant from Bowmanville if the by-law carnies on March lOth. Industries 'Il - VIITTHE FACTORY The Company will be pleased to show citizens throug h the acoY' aeavi4g ftis invitation and you will be more convinced than ever that you should vote FOR this By-Law. 1TM ES E A RE FACTS I Which should prove to every ratepayer that he- or she S should vote FOR this by-law on March lOth. Let niothinop keep you from voting next Wednesday. 's -I So
