02 - The Oakville Beaver, W e d n e s d a y M a y 15, 2002 A healthy lifestyle begins with Tousaw skips team to mixed title Ross Tousaw and his foursome of spouse Sherrill, and Gail and Bob Betts won the mixed championship of the Oakville Curling Club with an 8-7 win over Brian Marsden's rink consist ing of Nell Van Ymeren, Alain Careau and Nicole Faucher. Tousaw's team took two in the sev enth end to tie the game. In the eighth end and without the hammer, Tousaw continued to throw up centre guards and Marsden contin ued to peel them. With his first rock, Tousaw elected to throw another centre guard. But this time, the peel was missed. On his last rock, Tousaw drew around the centre guard to the button. Marsden's only shot was to also come around the guard, but with enough weight that it would move Tousaw's rock behind the tee line. Marsden had sufficient weight on his last rock to move the shot rock but it did not curl enough. Tousaw stole the end and thus the championship. Eighty-two teams competed in ten divisions through out the year in round robin competition. The second draw was won by Melissa Foster's rink of Scott Foster, Valerie Hoxie and Scott Muir.
