TA K ETHE Man goes into rage at library A 49-year old Mississauga man. who assaulted several people at an Oakville library Sunday afternoon, remains under psychiatric observation. Halton Regional Police said the inci dent began at 2:20 p.m. when a man entered Woodside Library on Rebecca Street and went into an office that is off limits to the public. When a staff member approached him, the man grabbed her and pushed her aside. The woman fled the office and alerted other staff while the man went into the main library and assaulted four people. At that point an off-duty psychiatric worker and six other people wrestled the man to the floor and kept him under con trol until police arrived. Officers removed the man and with great difficulty got him into a cruiser, after which the man kicked out both its back windows. The man was again restrained and transferred to a secure police escort van. He was taken to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital under the provisions of the Mental Health Act.
