"Council supports developing online resources that simplify the way Oakville residents access information to explore our amazing town," said Mayor Rob Burton. "The new interactive maps are great tools for planning an outdoor Oakville adventure with family and friends." They have informative and helpful features. The greenspace map has a `point identify' feature, which allows residents to see exactly what kind of greenspace is nearby, from parks and natural heritage systems to valley and woodlands. see Maps on p.3 With temperatures set to soar back into more typical summertime warmth, those looking to cool down can do so at a variety of public splash pads and swimming pools. Last Saturday, hundreds took advantage of sunny skies and warm breezes at Coronation Park, where both the swings and splash pad were popular attractions. Brenda Dushko, OMHS spokesperson, said the animal shelter is coping with an unusual in ux of reptiles -- currently four bearded dragons are in the care of the Cornwall Road shelter. The small lizards were discovered outdoors in various locations around Halton, having either escaped or been released by Norbert their owners. "We get calls from people saying, `There's a lizard on the side of my house,' because if the sun is hitting the bricks of the house they will crawl up there to get warm," said Dushko. "They are all about seeking warmth." She said while four reptiles may not seem like much, the bearded dragon has very speci c needs and requires a UV basking lamp to keep it healthy. see Heat on p.3 Sav Save e $1 $1,850 ,850 & beat the heat With the purc purchase hase of a Daik Daikin in air conditioner and furnace. *On qualifying home comfort systems. up to * Call A1: 905-844-2949
