Oakville lost 11-6 to the St. Catharines Saints Friday and was defeated 13-9 by the Owen Sound North Stars Sunday. The Titans led Friday's contest 3-1 after one period but were outscored 7-2 in the second. Connor Latimer had a hat trick and an assist in the loss, with Brad Gillies contributing a goal and two helpers. Todd Kozak and Patrick Miles also tallied for the Titans. A different period -- the third -- cost Oakville Sunday as the Titans were outCONCRETE W H I T E C A P S W I N scored 6-2 in the final frame. Gillies and Kozak scored twice, and Sean Gillies, Cody Simpson, Dylan Gilbert, Elliott Cowburn and Latimer netted singles. Latimer added three assists for a fourpoint evening. Although they still have five games remaining in the regular season, the Titans have already clinched one of six playoff spots up for grabs in the seven-team loop. Oakville is currently tied for fourth with the Sarnia Beavers, two points clear of Owen Sound. The Titans will host the Six Nations Rivermen this Friday (8 p.m., Glen Abbey Recreation Centre), Oakville's first home game in three weeks. The Titans then go back on the road the following evening to visit Sarnia before concluding the campaign with three consecutive home dates. The Oakville Whitecaps 7-under t-ball team defeated Ancaster 37-36 to win the championship at the recent Oakville Little League tournament at Cornwall Park. The title was especially meaningful for the players who suited up for the 6-under team last season, which lost nearly all of its games at the four tournaments it entered. Members of this year's squad are Ethan Roberts, Liam Jensen, Zachary McCabe, Connor Guilday, Lucas Ventresca, Matthew Callaghan, Tommy Sharpe, Spencer Vail, Thomas Cullen, Luca Figueira, Nate O'Reilley, Jonah Andrade, Joseph Rouben and Jack Rogers. Derek O'Reilley, John Sharpe, Rui Andrade and Scott Vail coach the team. | photo submitted REBATES ARE BACK! Former Longhorns hall of famers ACT NOW!! Sliwinski, who went in as a player, was a 10-time all-star linebacker who played most of his NFC career with the Longhorns. He was the league's defensive player of the year in 1999 and 2001, and was the NFC championship game MVP in 1998, 2000 and 2003. Emo played for Oakville and the Brampton Bears in the 1980s but was inducted as a builder, primarily for his work with the Milton Marauders. Emo and Sliwinski took over the Marauders in 2003, when Milton was coming off a winless season, and led the team to a national championship the following year. Emo was honoured as the league's coach of the year in 2005. Former Toronto Eagles and Markham Raiders defensive end Mike Thompson was also inducted Saturday. On the field, the Longhorns fell 43-6 to the Toronto Raiders, their fourth loss in as many outings this season. Oakville has a bye this weekend and will resume the campaign July 5 with a 6 p.m. home game against the Sudbury Spartans at Bronte. 905-845-3824 ext. 283 ahowe@oakvillebeaver.com LAWN CARE POOL SERVICE Quality Service and Repair at Reasonable Prices you grow · we mow Call Alycia at www.lawnbros.ca Professional Services 21 years experience over 1000 liners installed!
