Sports Briefs The shutout victory capped a 4-0-1 showing for Oakville at the tournament. "I'm so happy with the girls and everything they accomplished," said Oakville coach Chris Wight. "It was a complete team effort and we can build on it moving forward." Members of the team are Ashley Micuda, Gillian Groth, Jessica Harraway, Kenedy Choma, Carley Wight, Caleigh MacDonald, Chloe Calitri, Allison Prahin, Julia Semple, Mylissa Tom, Asia Navalta, Kaitlyn Tousaw, Madison Harley, Madisyn McGauley, Izzy Lynch, Juliana Pizzolato and Lauren Taylor. Dave Cull is the team's assistant coach and Monica Navalta is the manager. Championship for bantam level 3 Hawks The Oakville Hawks bantam level 3 lacrosse team won four straight games to claim gold at a recent tournament in Six Nations. Oakville sandwiched shutout victories over First Nations (7-0) and Newmarket (80) around wins over Kahnewake (9-4) and Brantford (5-4). The Hawks won their first eight games of their league season as well, and has defeated teams in level 2 and even level 1 this year. The team includes Dylan Greenhalgh, Matthew Hledin, Connor Smith, Kenedy Cooper, Ethan Milroy, Liam Salerno, Oliver Beckett, Chad Nadin, Liam Sanderson, Mac Sinclair, Will McAllister, Ben Sheehan, Oliver Bonden, Sam Stewart, Trent Nadin, Zander Alsace and Ryan Fitzgerald. Titans RB scores seven touchdowns Peter Marko's first touch of the game was an indication of things to come. The Oakville Titans running back scored seven touchdowns, including an 85-yard scamper on the first play from scrimmage, as Oakville routed Clarington 49-14 to improve to 2-0 on the summer rep football season. One of Marko's TDs came on a pass from Oakville quarterback Davis Boulding. Others were set up by runs by Tanner Guy, Joseph Peters and Adam Tosti. Guy kicked five converts and added a two-point conversion. The Titans defeated the North Halton Crimson Tide 44-32 in their season opener. First golf ace for taekwon-do world champion Apparently, Mike Morningstar is not just a one-sport star. Morningstar, a former world champion in taekwon-do, recorded his first golf ace last weekend at Glen Abbey Golf Club. The Oakville Sports Hall of Fame member used a pitching wedge on the par-3, 129-yard 15th hole. This is Morningstar's fifth year playing golf, and his handicap index is 11.6.
