The PlayZone for children will feature a bouncy castle, a pirate's den obstacle course, caricature drawings and face painting. The popular Kids' Workshop by Home Depot will also return, where children can build a bird feeder, race car, re engine or helicopter from a kit. At the Safari Science station, children can check out snakes, spiders and other creepy crawlies. New this year will be a carnival-style midway featuring games, a ferris wheel and bumper cars. Children can also experience what it might be like to be a hamster by stepping into a waterball, a plastic bubble that allows a person to run around protected in a shallow pool. Local champion robotics teams will be onhand to demonstrate their technical skills. The PlayZone is open until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until 7 p.m. Sunday.
